Scare Attraction - Concept Designs

As part of a potential Halloween event, I developed a series of concepts for multiple scare attractions. This project involved creating immersive storylines, concept art, and detailed attraction layouts. I collaborated with various stakeholders throughout the process, ensuring that each attraction was cohesive, engaging, and aligned with the event's overall theme.

The Process:

  1. Initial Ideation and Brainstorming – I began by meeting with key stakeholders, including event coordinators and creative directors, to gather insights on the event's goals and target audience. We discussed different scare themes, guest flow considerations, and the overall narrative structure of the attractions.
  2. Storyline Development – Once the direction was clear, I crafted detailed storylines for each scare maze, focusing on building tension and delivering unique horror experiences in each attraction. My aim was to create immersive environments where guests would feel like they were stepping into a living horror story.
  3. Concept Art – After developing the storylines, I created concept art to bring the attractions to life visually. These visuals helped communicate the tone and atmosphere of each maze, making it easier for stakeholders to understand the guest experience we were aiming for.
  4. Attraction Layout Design – With the storylines and visual direction in place, I moved on to designing detailed layouts for each attraction. I considered both the narrative progression and practical elements, such as guest throughput, safety, and actor positioning, to ensure that each attraction would deliver a smooth yet terrifying experience.

Collaboration and Feedback: Throughout the design process, I worked closely with key stakeholders, including event planners, technical teams, and production designers, to ensure that the concepts were feasible and aligned with the overall vision. Regular feedback sessions allowed me to refine the designs and make adjustments based on operational needs.

Outcome: The final concepts provided a comprehensive vision for each scare attraction, complete with storyline arcs, mood-setting concept art, and attraction layouts optimised for both guest experience and operational efficiency. These designs set the foundation for the creative direction of the event, delivering a cohesive and thrilling Halloween experience.
